Sarah is a nonbinary queer poet who founded the “Speakeasy” Open Mic in March 2022. Driven by a desire to make art more accessible and connect with fellow artists, they co-founded Foray for The Arts, a multidisciplinary traveling event series in Spokane, with Greg Bem in January 2024.
Sarah earned their Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Eastern Washington University in June 2025 and self-published their first chapbook, Mother Media, in October 2023.
More recently, they provided the foreword and worked as an editor for Down River, Deep Root: A Spokane Poetry Anthology, published by Carbonation Press. Sarah also served as a judge for the Charles Potts Poetry Award.
They are currently working on their second collection, Ego's Mythos. When they're not writing, Sarah facilitates poetry workshops, hosts weekly karaoke and open mic nights, edits work for fellow poets, and helps organize creative events throughout the community. They have been featured at events such as Emerge, Foray for the Arts, 12 Minute Max, The Inland Northwest Poetry Salon, and Terrain.
Sarah loves being part of an active creative community that inspires people to collaborate, communicate, and grow.
